Large-scale Moscow's Assaults Cut Electricity In Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and dealt with interruptions to drinking water, as stated by local authorities.

At the same time, a young boy was lost their life in a separate Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southern area, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has increased strikes on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "concrete actions" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not window dressing but decisive action - from the United States, the EU and the G7 - in supplying air defence systems and enforcing sanctions," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty rockets targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were laboring to restore power.

A series of attacks damaged energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region endured significant strikes during nighttime hours. A minor lost their life and multiple civilians were wounded.

The strikes come after evenings of aerial attacks in the region, parts of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The whole nation is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to spot.

Government officials told journalists that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the national power system, with assaults already affecting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and officials were anticipating additional strikes.
